Refreshing Spring Strawberry Slushy

At our house, we’ve been working on ways to make a smoothie without any sugar. My husband invented this recipe, and it gives a great surprise with the cinnamon. It’s not what you’d expect, but it’s refreshing and delicious.

Strawberries, one handful
2 cups mint or Yerba Mate tea
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 squirts of liquid stevia

Make tea with hot water. Steep the tea to make it fairly strong. While waiting for the tea, add strawberries, cinnamon and stevia to a blender. Add tea, and blend all ingredients well. You may need to add a few strawberries and/or a little water to bring it to your desired consistency. Optional: Serve in glasses garnished with a sprig of mint leaf on the side.
